Welcome to the website of docomomo australia, the Australian branch of an international organisation called DOCOMOMO which is dedicated to the documentation and conservation of buildings, sites and neighbourhoods of the modern movement (hence the acronym docomomo).

DOCOMOMO International was initially established in the Netherlands in 1990 to draw attention to the plight of some of the pioneering early modern buildings which were decaying for lack of a current use. At the initial conference in Eindhoven the Eindhoven Statement was agreed as the foundation for the activities of docomomo in each of its member countries. After being headquartered in the Netherlands since its establishment DOCOMOMO International now operates from Paris.

docomomo australia aims to increase awareness of Modernism by researching, documenting, lobbying and educating.
